According to The Seattle Times, the Pioneer Banque Restaurant opened in the Yesler Building (1890), located at First Avenue and Yesler Way in Seattle’s Pioneer Square Historic District. The Banque’s lounge was located downstairs in the former site of the 92 Yesler club and by early 1974 a series of Sunday jazz showcases was launched.

Such jazz stars as Cal Tjader, Jimmy Smith, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, Stanley Turrentine, Bill Evans, Gabor Szabo and many others appeared there. The jazz shows continued through 1977. The club eventually faded away and was superseded by the Bahamas Restaurant and Disco.
