Creed Taylor had always been deeply attuned to making jazz easier for more people to enjoy. From the time he achieved Top 40 success at Verve, he had become acutely aware of "programming" albums for radio airplay and, ultimately, greater sales.

He brought these lessons to bear on the music he fashioned for release on CTI. The following lists outline the songs that were released on 45-RPM records as best as I can determine at this point.
